Are you looking for a support role working in an SEN environment, ideally you will have experience of working with secondary aged pupils, supporting both male and female statemented students. The school setting is part of a wider Academy supporting students across the Milton Keynes area with a handful of pupils attending from neighbouring local authorities. You will be working in a support role to the class teacher, working with small groups and 1:1 intervention when required, supporting with literacy and numeracy as well as topic work.
The Academy was formed almost 2 years ago, it was observed by Ofsted last summer and there are some improvements required, specifically to improve teaching and pupil progress within school, the behaviour of pupils and leadership within school was graded as 'good'. This is a well supported environment and the staff work tirelessly to engage the pupils and enhance their learning, taking in to consideration their individual needs and learning styles.
This is a fast paced environment, the lively and interactive approach to teaching is fully embraced in this SEN setting and requires a Teaching Assistant who has a confident, calm and empathetic approach with the students. This is a long term supply role, immediate start with opportunities to stay until Easter and possibly beyond.
