Linux Infrastructure Engineer - Trading House
A global trading house is looking to hire an ambitious Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join their London city office. The Engineer will work in a multi dimensional capacity, supporting, designing, engineering and improving all aspects of the company's infrastructure and associated networks. This is a superb opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and there is strong career development potential with the role, as the London office continues to grow over time this person is likely to become a lead/manager for the trading systems desk.
This Trading House runs a large, complex technology infrastructure and this role will primarily focus on Linux and networking, with a chance to be involved in cutting-edge technology projects from day one. The Engineer will have a chance to get involved in supporting the company's real-time, latency-sensitive trading operation spread across their global offices, working on linux kernels, performance tuning and systems builds/upgrades (kickstart etc.) They will also liaise with their quality in-house development teams to assist in improvements to the company's bespoke applications.
Ideal skill set/experience:
- Linux systems administration (preferably RHEL6/CentOS6 or other derivative)
- Good automation/scripting, such as Bash or Perl
- An appreciation of Cisco networking / network protocols e.g. TCP/IP or DNS etc, switches, routers, firewalls, multicast is desirable but not essential as the company are happy for someone to grow into the role.
The company is looking for an open-mind person with an innovative approach to technology and a desire to learn new skills. This role would suit a Linux System Administrator / Engineer looking to develop their technical skills and grow within the low latency / high frequency trading arena.
