A major infrastructure and construction company require 2 Assistant Managers ASAP for a 12 month contract to help with the citys network expansion plans.

The successful candidates will assist the Senior Project Managers to project manage and coordinate the development and delivery of the Projects to agreed time, cost and quality criteria.

A background in infrastructure, construction or rail network development is essential, other industries will not be considered by the client.

The roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Deliver the project to time, budget, and quality and safety standards, within prescribed project and gateway processes.

Manage the outputs of project consultants and contractors engaged to deliver the project.

Provide project information to the technical, project management and administrative staff and consultants engaged on the delivery of projects.

Assist in the management and coordination of activities until completion of the project.

Maintain knowledge of the projects including review of outcomes and feedback of lessons learnt.

Prepare and submit appropriate documentation to the Boards and Panels which ensure the progression of schemes through Gateway Reviews.

Coordinate the provision of all relevant budget and programme information to the Programme Accountant and Schedule Officer.

Assist in the preparation reports/briefing notes for senior management, elected members, PTA committees, Executive and Operating Boards, as appropriate to project status.

Essential and desirable skills include:

Essential

Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, PMP

Desirable

Chartered or Incorporated engineer/membership of a professional institution such as Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Highways and Transportation. (CEng/IEng., MICE,CMIHT)

Project Management qualification or membership of a professional institution such as the Association for Project Management

Desirable

Previous experience of planning and delivery of light rail projects, particularly in an on highway or urban situation.

Experience of highway works within in a City Centre

Project Management experience.

Experience of managing complex multi-stakeholder, multi-organisational projects.

Experience of managing highly public, politically sensitive projects
