As well as the health benefits sports provide, it also helps to provide a fun and valuable distraction from the children’s everyday lives and can teach skills such as team-work and strategy.

Kaya Responsible Travel offer sports coaching projects in Swaziland, Zambia, Bolivia and South Africa all of which are very much in need of volunteers. We also take volunteers to work on a sports camp in Jaipur, India and at a young offenders rehabilitation centre in the Philippines both of which help young, disadvantaged children to have something to focus on and excel at. Not only do volunteers get to spend their days doing what they love, but they get the satisfaction of knowing that they’re making this possible for many children who have very little and can explore fantastic locations in their spare time.

No specific qualifications are required but experience in sports or physical sciences or coaching would be beneficial. Project fees apply, but include accommodation, airport pick-ups, food, orientation and 24h support in most cases.
