Great opportunity within a group of award winning Production companies, which is part of a larger Media Group.

The TV division produces TV, radio and digital content through a range of high quality production units and requires a strong individual to lead their finance team. Reporting into the CFO, your role will be to produce the company accounts whist partnering the Production teams to manage their finances and costs.

The ideal individual will come from a TV/Production background, be confident in communicating with all levels throughout the business and be looking to work in a fast moving, constantly evolving creative environment.

The role:

  • Supervise a team of two, including staff training and managing the workload of the department
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts
  • Review & monitor production budgets, ensuring they remain within approved limits
  • Treasury management including foreign currency
  • Regularly meet with Production Managers to advise on their finances
  • Prepare weekly cashflows, quarterly forecasting and annual business plans
  • Produce monthly rolling forecasts for CFO & Director of Production
  • Year end accounts and preparing audit files, key contact for audit of TV subsidiaries
  • Inter ledger journals and reconciliations
  • VAT returns
  • Manage the fixed assets register
  • Key liaison with the bank and manage banking relationship
  • Post month end journals
  • Prepare payroll information for the outsourced payroll bureau
  • Prepare sales invoices and manage the receivables ledger, including aged debtor analysis and control

The person:

  • Ideally fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent)
  • Strong technical experience preferably gained within a TV/Production/Media company
  • Fully working knowledge of accounts preparation and VAT
  • Proactive, business minded, and commercially astute
  • Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage
  • Hands on approach, good team player and positive work approach
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to meet tight deadlines
