SEN EBD Teacher required for 5 Mornings per week in South Manchester
We are looking to recruit a teacher to deliver a range of subjects over 5 mornings, at a behavioural provision in South Manchester. The position will involve delivering both core subjects as well as a range of other subjects. The provision has evolved over the years to include a more comprehensive education package and as such they are looking to appoint a qualified teacher who can take responsibility for planning, marking and assessment of work.
The young people you will be working with will display challenging behaviour, and will often have had breaks in education causing them to work below expected levels. The provision caters for Key Stage 3 aged pupils and will be working towards GCSE or Entry level qualifications. The provision has 3 bases throughout Central Manchester and there may be opportunity for career development for the suitable candidate, as well as the potential to mentor and support other teaching assistants and mentors.
The children that you will be working with be working within the Pupil Referral Unit system and will to currently be in mainstream education. The ultimate aim of the provision is reintegrate the young people back into mainstream education or offer them access to a structured education timetable and chance to obtain qualifications in core areas. We would be looking for applicants to have experience of working with disengaged young people either within a similar setting, or have worked with challenging behaviour within mainstream schools or colleges.
