A world leading banking organisation are currently looking to add to their analytics team therefore they are recruiting for 2 Senior Analysts on a permanent basis.

The Senior Analyst - Basel CoE role is based within Financial Modelling.

The role of the Senior Analyst - Basel CoE is to be responsible for acting as a consultant on and defining standards for Basel model developments, monitoing and documentation across the globe. This will also cover interpretating and assisitng to deploy new regulatory guidance. In addition to this within the European region you will be responsible for stress testing , RWA management analysis (including forecasting), responding to regulatory requests for European portfolios and ensuring appropriate governance for all model builds, monitoirng and documentation.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Advising within Europe and across the Globe on Basel model builds
* Undertaking portfolio stress testing
* Responding to regulatory requests including coordination and some hands on involvement of data requests
* Liaising with key business stakeholders to advice on the impacts of business actions to levels of required RWA
* Working closely with colleagues within Global Analytics Centre and supporting offshore project work.
* Providing RWA forecasts for all portfolios

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
* Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Analytics experience in one or more of Basel modelling, stress testing, forecasting
* Role relevant qualifications, i.e.Degree educated in numerate discipline
* Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Analytics or Risk Management
* Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and SQL (Structured Query Language)
* Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. occasional travel between different sites in London, Sheffield, Chester, Birmingham & Leeds may be required. Potential for travel within Europe
* Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Credit Cards, Mortgages, Current Accounts and Personal Loans is desirable but not essential
* Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
** Planned projects and activities systematically in line with business priorities, using a variety of analysis and problem solving techniques
* A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements associated with financial services and experience of working within these
* In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of Basel model builds including PD, EAD, LGD and Stress testing. This includes both building the statistical models and understanding the relevant BIPRU/CRSG regulations. A knowledge of regulations in other jurisdictions would be advantageous.

The role of the Senior Analyst - Financial Modelling is to be responsible for developing forecasting, cut-off, pricing and Basel solutions by working both individually and by guiding / coaching analysts to enable a successful delivery, on budget, on time and with clear business / financial benefits. In addition, as a senior member of the team you will take full ownership of some of the most complex analytics projects by managing stakeholder communication, designing the approach and guiding subordinate resource to a successful delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing, maintaining and interpreting Bad Debt and LIC forecast models, as well as Pricing and Cut-off Models in order to maximise returns that achieve the agree hurdle criteria.
* Ensuring appropriate governance is followed and projects within your remit fully comply with governance
* Developing project plans and managing own projects.
* Liaising with key business stakeholders, understanding the requirements and recommending appropriate analysis to drive projects to successful completion.
* Coaching and technical support to a number of UK and Global analysts within the financial modeling team
* Accurately analysing trends, financial data and company status to make informed decisions regarding complex credit issues.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
* Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Analytics experience in one or more of modelling, strategy design, cut-off / pricing optimisation
* Role relevant qualifications, i.e.Degree educated in numerate discipline
* Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Analytics or Risk Management
* Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and SQL (Structured Query Language)
* Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. occasional travel between different sites in London, Sheffield, Chester, Birmingham & Leeds may be required.
* Contributed productively to team objectives, sometimes supporting and sometimes leading activities to achieve shared goals
* Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
* Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results

Location: Sheffield, Chester, Leeds, Birmingham, London

Salary: £40k - £50k dependant on experience.
