IT Systems Administrator - Windows infrastructure environment. c. £30k + bonus + bens - Southampton

My client is a well known and established manufacturer and distribution organisation based on the outskirts of Southampton. They have asked us to assist in the recruitment of an IT Systems Administrator to take ownership / technical responsibility for providing IT Support to a division of the company. (*Support from IT teams within the wider group available).

Role purpose:
To maintain and develop the IT Systems, Applications, Network & Infrastructure to meet business needs; to support system users across site; to participate in wider strategic systems changes and support the introduction of new production equipment requiring IT interfacing.

*High level of systems knowledge - Microsoft Business Enterprise Servers (Windows Server / Exchange Server), Windows XP, MS Office
*Expert MS Excel Skills.
*Ability to quickly learn and work with in-house systems.
*Troubleshooting, Analytical Problem Solving & Decision making
*Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address issues, and meet deadlines.

*Experience of Back-up Execution and Full System Recover in Disaster recovery scenarios.
*Project management skills.
*Database skills in Paradox, SQL, MS Access to enable bespoke reporting tools to be created and used.

Salary: c. £30K base + Quality and Service related Bonus + Healthcare Cash plan + Company Pension

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week. Role may require out of hours attendance to work on systems while production is down or quiet.

This role may suit an individual who has held the following roles: Help Desk Support, IT Support, IT Systems Administrator, IT Sys Admin, Systems Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, Windows Support Analyst, 1st / 2nd line support consultant or (hands-on IT Manager (of a small environment))
