The SQL Developer is responsible for development and maintenance of databases and SQL based derived reporting.
The SQL Developer reports to the Head of IT.
Roles and responsibilities
Key roles and responsibilities will include:
Development and maintenance of T-SQL stored procedures and scripts
Documentation and testing of above
Development and maintenance of ETL packages
Design and implement data cleansing Operating Principles
Ad hoc queries and reports
Awareness of current trends in the database industry
Adherence to coding standards including naming conventions and commenting
Backup databases and regularly verify backups
Document database backup and restore process
Maintain the data dictionary
Follow change control procedures
Any other duties as deemed necessary for the needs of the business
Essential Skills: SQL Server 2008/12; T-SSQL Code; SSIS; SSRS
Desirable Skills: knowledge of SSAS, Windows server and .net beneficial.
Good communication skills are essential. Excellent organisational skills are required as is the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Experience of working in fashion retail and capturing & translating business report requirements into structured SQL developed solutions advantageous.
Whilst this position will operate on daytime working hours, a flexible attitude toward working times is essential.
