We urgently need a teacher that has previous experience of working with students with autism from September. The role is for a term in the first instance but essentially can be permanent for the right person. A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEN teacher to work in one of the most well established and well resourced SEN schools in Essex.
The premises provide a safe and tranquil environment with facilities and resources aimed at meeting the needs of students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. The school provides places for up to 79 students in the age range 3-19l. The school services maintains its existing FE provision and also a separate site in North Colchester for the more complex and vulnerable students. In preparing students for adult life, they are provided with opportunities to continue to develop communication, interactive and personal skills appropriate to their needs. Both the school and the FE Department provide day and weekly boarding places, with boarding students accommodated in small groups within the boarding houses on-site.

Whilst embracing the National Curriculum core and foundation subjects, the school is committed to providing a specialist, quality service, tailored to meet the unique and diverse needs of each individual student. Facilities exist at the school to cater for students with more complex, autism-related needs whereby differentiated teaching and learning approaches are utilised to facilitate access to a meaningful and relevant curriculum.
