The Role:
The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Community Manager who can naturally engage with stakeholders across a diverse portfolio of Solar PV Projects, while simultaneously maintaining strong relationships working with elected members, council officers, residents, businesses, community groups and the media.

Responsibilities:
• Negotiate and deliver community benefits schemes with community liaison groups
• Establish strong and close relationships with both residents and project team members
• Help win planning permissions and meet planning requirements for pre-application consultation
• Community consultation and communication activities.
• Liaise with local grass root residents establishing relationships with local and national media, with the aim of creating strong foundations of trust within a community.
• Become the occasional company spokesperson, supporting mobilisation to build and advance current schemes.
• Programme, project and budget management

Experience:
• Significant project management experience and involvement with local communities in relation to sensitive and complex issues
• Demonstrated experience of leading stakeholder engagement initiatives, particularly for renewables projects
• A clear understanding of the potential issues that may impact on local authorities and host communities
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with diverse local stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with local authority officers and local councillors

Skills:
• Good interpersonal, networking and writing skills
• Strong programme and project management skills
• An appreciation and understanding of the role and structure of Government, especially local and regional government, and the development and application of planning policy
• Political and campaigning awareness and understanding of the UK media
