Are you that teacher who can make a difference to a young person's life? Some young people have a harder start in life than others and require that special teacher who can understand with empathy, teach with friendliness but be firm when necessary.
We are seeking an experienced teacher for a local education provision for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The centre has adopted a nurturing ethos and is guided by attachment principles. The centre allows children an opportunity to rework their early unmet needs and slowly change children's "damaged" expectations and capacities. Within the context of resilient consistent and caring relationships, which do not collude with their dysfunctional expectations, and a nurturing, predictable, secure base where firm boundaries are set with empathy, children can begin to experience their emotional states being contained and regulated by adults they are beginning to trust. the approach encourages the growth of self esteem and promotes social skills.
You would be joining an exciting educational service that is committed to high expectations of pupils in terms of learning and behaviour. We would welcome applications from experienced teachers who may like a change of direction and who feel that they can meet not only the learning needs of the pupils but also their social emotional and behavioural needs.
The pupils have significant emotional blocks to learning and are in need or support to enable them to overcome their emotional barriers.
We are seeking a classroom teacher who is able to work in a nurturing way and who is wiling to think creatively in relation to preparing lessons and creating learning opportunities in the classroom.
