Why we need you:
We need motivational people to join us at Shine Night Walk in London on Saturday 27th September 2014. By volunteering, not only will you help and inspire the thousands of people walking Shine, but you’ll be helping Cancer Research UK raise money to fund its life-saving research. At Shine HQ, we think of volunteers as heroes, because without you, Shine simply couldn’t happen.
For the first time, Shine Night Walk will start and finish at two exciting new venues – Southwark Park and Old Billingsgate.
How much time do you need to commit?
Our night-time Shine volunteer shifts generally last for about eight hours. Please let the event manager know your availability once you’ve signed up. Please note that you will be assigned a role so if for any reason you can no longer volunteer please let us know as soon as possible.
What support will you be given?
A member of the Shine team will contact you before the event to discuss any queries you have about the event and/or your role, and you will receive briefing notes before the event and on the day. All volunteer teams have a designated manager, who will guide and support you in your role and answer any questions you may have.
What are the benefits?
The satisfaction of knowing that you are making a valuable contribution to Cancer Research UK and the experience of working with one of the UK’s leading charities on a premier national event. You will also benefit from meeting new people and you will receive a volunteer t-shirt and light refreshments.
