An award-winning Financial Services firm within the heart of Mayfair currently seeks a Desktop Support Engineer (Support, Exchange, Active Directory) to join their strong team of technologists that work to support all desktop and infrastructure related issues and processes within a pioneering technology environment.

The successful Desktop Support Engineer (Support, Exchange, Active Directory) will liaise with other areas of the business such as the service desk and problem management teams in order to ensure quick issue resolution as well as playing a role in operational projects and continually providing service improvement and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction. You will be responsible for going on to client site so you must feel confident to walk onto trading floors and speak with clients on a daily basis.

In order to be considered for the role of Desktop Support Engineer- (Support, Exchange, Active Directory, TCP/IP, Windows 7/8, Windows Server, Reuters, Bloomberg, Hedge Fund, Asset Manager, Financial Services, London) the following is important:

  • As this is a Windows environment, you will need to have good exposure and experience with Windows 7 and/or 8, Office 2010/2013, Active Directory administrations (for dealing with user accounts, distribution and security groups), Exchange 2010/2013, Server 2008/2012 (essential)
  • Have solid desktop knowledge of networking surrounding TCP/IP alongside desktop/printer hardware knowledge, VPN knowledge and troubleshooting experience (essential)

  • Working knowledge of Blackberries, iPhones and Tablets (essential)
  • Experience with Symantec Endpoint Protection, Bloomberg, Apple MAC OS knowledge would be very handy to also have but these are not essential
  • This role would definitely be suited for someone who is very passionate about being exposed to the latest technologies and wants to continually learn about the best that the industry has to offer. You will be working with some of the city's leading technologists within this firm, who are very passionate about delivering top quality service for whichever client they are working with. This company typically attracts the type individual that sees technology as "the way forward" and someone who loves to problem solve - take things apart - reverse engineer and come to a solution. If being heard within a team and organisation appeals to you then this role may definitely be worth a chat as my client are keen on finding someone who has ambition who is looking to impress and make their mark.
