An IT Support Technician with solid 2nd line support & server maintenance experience is required by a large, established company in the Bedford area. On a daily basis the role will involve taking some of the more advanced issues over the phone but you will provide mostly second line support to the user community within this busy IT service desk environment. There will be the opportunity to be involved in 3rd line project work under the guidance of the Senior Systems/Network Administrator.
To be a suitable candidate for this role, you will need to have excellent technical user support skills and be extremely customer service orientated. You MUST have worked in a 1st/2nd line support Service Desk position and have strong technical skills particularly with Windows / Microsoft applications including desktop, Microsoft Server 2003/2008 (to include server maintenance, checking domains and resolving issues) , basic VOIP communications as well as business infrastructure and applications.
Although NOT essential it would be an added advantage to have MCP or MCSE qualifications and have demonstrable experience with Lotus Notes or Lotus Domino Administration based email, and application systems, VMware and Cisco networking. The business plans to upgrade to office 365 so any experience would be valuable but again not essential.
This role will involve shift work within the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm. There are two shifts: 8.00am - 4.15pm and 9.15am to 5.30pm.
The salary for this role is up to £26,000 basic depending on the level of experience.
