FDM is a global professional services provider and the UK’s leading IT graduate employer.  We are currently seeking an Academy Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day running and operations of our London Training Academy. Leading a team of experienced IT Trainers, the Manager will ensure the smooth running of the Training Academy taking into account business needs.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To manage and direct the day-to-day activities of trainers and trainees in the Academy
  • To manage trainers in the development of trainees in their nominated stream
  • To manage training to meet business needs, by agreeing course content with the Consultant Manager
  • Managing individual development plans for trainers and other direct reports
  • Ensuring consistency of course delivery across all Academies in all geographies
  • To manage and be accountable for quality of training delivery
  • Assist in the RFI/Tender process as and when required by the business

 

Essential criteria:

  • Background in IT training
  • Minimum 2 years team management / leadership experience
  • Analytical and organisational skills
  • Proven skills as a trainer in a commercial environment
  • Proven, recent commercial experience of delivering training
  • Proven experience of developing and authoring quality training materials
  • Able to communicate at all levels
  • Be responsible for managing the results of quality assurance outputs and be ultimately accountable for QA procedures
  • Ability to supervise staff and make personnel decisions
  • Excellent written communication skills

 

Desirable criteria:

  • Qualifications in training and management
  • Experience in training IT, communications, team working, management techniques
  • Previous experience in defining and delivering Elearning
  • Proven knowledge of Learning Styles and implementation into a real-life training environment
  • Project Management experience using MS Project
