A large established global company within the FMCG / Retail sector based in the Tunbridge Wells area require an Assistant Management Accountant.
Working as part of a dedicated management accounts team you will be responsible for the accounting of a large volume of monthly bulk orders and produce the management accounts packs for various trade departments. Candidates will have a strong commercial awareness and ability to work under pressure in a fast moving environment.
Breadth of responsibilities:
-Provide the business units with an up to date picture of their financial trading activity
-Reporting profitability at product level on a monthly basis
-General ledger reconciliations
-Assist with annual budgets
-Participate in managing cash outflows across the business
-Explaining variances against estimated charges
-Liaising with commercial staff (procurement, logistics, Business Unit Directors) & external suppliers to resolve queries and estimations
Attention to detail, collating and processing financial information accurately and strong communication skills are vital attributes to this role; as is the ability to demonstrate flexibility when working within a diverse team. Applicants will be studying or ideally already be AAT qualified or equivalent. Working towards further accountancy qualifications i.e. CIMA would be an advantage. In addition you should have advanced working knowledge of Excel and sound accounting skills gained in a management accounts environment.
