Nursery Room Leader
JOB DESCRIPTION - ROOM LEADER
The Team Leader is responsible to the Board of Directors, Manager and Deputy Manager.
Purpose of Post
To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the Nursery, following the EYFS documents and the nurseries Policies and procedures.
To give support to other personnel within the nursery
To implement daily routine within the base room
Your duties will be that of a nursery nurse with extra responsibilities
Duties will include:
Working in partnership with and supporting Manager and Deputy to ensure the daily running and administration of the nursery, adhering to the Policies & Procedures of the nursery and compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted and the EYFS. Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery.
Supervising and Leading Nursery Practitioners, Assistants and Students and carrying out supervisory meetings where appropriate under the guidance of the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager.
Ensuring Nursery Practitioners and Assistants are fulfilling their duties to a high standard.
Leading the planning of activities in their designated area of the nursery.
Liaising with the Manager, organising relevant staff, effective mentoring of junior staff, effective delegation and communication and promoting positive attitudes regarding the nursery.
Ensuring your room is regularly assessed, devising an following termly action plans to meet targets, make improvements and improve our service.
To work towards all action plans set by Management and to adhere to the SEF process of the nursery.
Attending regular meetings with the Senior Management Team.
Assisting with staff inductions and helping new staff to fit into the nursery.
Providing a good role model for Nursery Practitioners, Assistants and Students.
Providing feedback to the Senior Nursery Practitioners on issues relating to the nursery day.
Addressing staff and parent queries where appropriate.
The Room Leader must at all times ensure that only designated staff administer medication. (Not students)
Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment records and ensuring these files are orderly and fully completed at all times.

Adhering to the nursery's rigorous hygiene standards, cleaning rota and daily tasks set and ensuring your team complete these on time.
Attendance of staff meetings as arranged by the Nursery Managers.
Participating in regular parents evenings, summer fayres, etc
Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Directors, Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager.
