This is an excellent opportunity for a Human Resources / HR Officer to join a growing business in Newport, South Wales. The HR Officer will have great opportunity to learn and develop within this fast paced business.

This food manufacturer has transformed from a small local supplier to a well-respected plant bread manufacturer. The company continues to go from strength to strength, winning a host of new contracts, continually reviewing its product range and steadily expanding.

JOB TITLE: Human Resources / HR Officer
LOCATION: Newport, Wales
SALARY: £19-23k, dependent on experience
BENEFITS: Company pension scheme after probation, free parking

The Human Resources / HR Officer Role:
-To provide HR & Payroll support to the HR Team and internal customers
-To have accountability across 3 manufacturing sites and distribution depots providing a multi-level support and approachable service
-The recruitment of the 'right' people for the business at all levels within agreed time scales and assistance in gaining succession planning
-To maintain and progress working relationships with and between all staff providing an unbiased support at all levels
-Ad-hoc HR support according to the needs of the department, i.e. return to work interviews, disciplinary, grievances and staff issues
-Assist in and the coordination of staff and management development to allow for and promote opportunity and progression within the area
-To continuously promote equal opportunities for all staff, by assisting and supporting in the training and development of staff to achieve a multi skilled workforce
-Proactive employment law advice
-Provide cover for the payroll function during holiday times
-Provide administration support to the HR department, including analysing data and preparing monthly reports
-Ensure that success is recognised and celebrated
-Providing generalist support and advice across all areas of HR
-Working closely with Managers at all levels

The 'Must-Haves' as a Human Resources / HR Officer:
-Experience within an HR role, ideally within a fast paced manufacturing environment
-Excellent administration skills, with impeccable attention to detail
-Experience of running a payroll for a large number of staff
-Ideally working towards HR qualifications, such as CIPD
-Knowledge of employment law
-'Train the Trainer' qualification is advantageous
-A proactive and determined mentality, with the ability to work as a self-motivated individual as well as part of a team
-Customer service aware
-Strong organisational skills and exceptional accuracy
-A professional manner with excellent people skills & communication skills
