Katie Price fans heckled journalists covering her court appearance where she was answering charges of driving while disqualified and without insurance.

As the former model and TV presenter arrived at Crawley Magistrates' Court, the small group of women also shouted words of support for her. Some of them also approached Ms Price's legal team to ask if they would also represent them.

A bodyguard had arrived at the court earlier to ask court staff about the best exits to avoid publicity.

But they were told that there was only one way in and out of the court, which was used by everyone.

The former model was accompanied by several minders as she arrived. One of her bodyguards told an usher: "She needs a room."

They were directed to one nearby but staff apologised, with one usher saying: "I'm sorry but it has full windows". They explained that the room overlooked the front of the building.

After proceedings began, a magistrate reprimanded one of Ms Price's minders after a phone rang loudly during proceedings.

Price was handed a three-month disqualification and ordered to pay a total of £1,295 by the court for driving while banned.

The 40-year-old thanked magistrates as she left the court room and made no comment to reporters as she drove away.

Price will face magistrates again next month, when she is accused of being almost twice the legal alcohol limit while legally in charge of a pink Range Rover.

She denies the charge.
