Mystery surrounds the deaths of a man and woman found fatally injured inside a Birmingham flat.

Their bodies were discovered after police were called to the property opposite Moseley Church of England Primary School in Oxford Road, Moseley, shortly before 5.30pm on Saturday.

The pair, both aged 28, had serious injuries and were confirmed dead at the scene, West Midlands Police said.

Police say they were known to each other but did not live at the same address.

Detectives are still investigating how the man and woman came about their injuries.

However, they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and post-mortem examinations are due to take place.

Detective Hannah Whitehouse, of West Midlands Police, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and still in the process of contacting the families of the deceased.

“This is a tragic incident which has resulted in the deaths of two people and we are working to understand what happened at the address last night and how they came about their injuries.”
