Canelo vs Danny Jacobs press conference LA

Canelo Alvarez meets Daniel Jacobs in a middleweight title fight in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

The Mexican's WBA and WBC middleweight titles are on the line when the two meet at the T-Mobile Arena.

Canelo saw off Brit Rocky Fielding last time out in his first move up to super middle but returns to his more natural weight as he looks to add the IBF strap to his collection.

Jacobs claimed the IBF title after defeating Ukrainian Serhiy Derevianchenko in his last outing and will have to be up to that level again in his first defence.

Here’s everything you need to know:

When and where is the fight?

The fight takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday May 4. The arena is something of a home for Canelo – and will be even more so considering the bout is on Cinco de Mayo weekend.

What time will the ring walks be?

As this one is in Vegas, expect it to be no earlier than 4.30am – possibly even 5am.

What TV channel will it be on?

It’ll be live on DAZN as that’s who both fighters are with – and in the UK it’ll be shown on Sky Sports, so if you’re a subscriber you get this one as part of your package.

Subscribers will also be able to live stream the fight via Sky Go.

What is the full fight schedule?

David Lemieux vs John Ryder (WBA interim super-middleweight title)

Vergil Ortiz Jr vs Mauricio Herrera

Joseh Diaz vs TBA

Sadam Ali vs Anthony Young

Lamont Roach Jr vs Jonathan Oquendo

Alexis Espino vs TBA

What’s at stake and what are their records?

Plenty of belts! Canelo puts up his WBA (Super), WBC, The Ring and lineal titles, while Jacobs offers his IBF strap. A proper unifying fight.

Canelo’s record is an absurd one, he’s been fighting professionally since the age of 15(!) and has become the biggest star of the sport. He comes in with a record of 54 fights, 51 wins, two draws and just one defeat to the legendary Floyd Mayweather.

Jacobs, meanwhile, has fought 37 times in his professional career with 35 wins and two defeats.

Prediction

Canelo should win this one. His body punching ability will break Jacobs down and there could be a late stoppage.

Odds

Canelo to win: 4/11

Jacobs to win: 9/2

Draw: 22/1
