Fleetwood Mac were forced to cancel a show in Boston, Massachusetts, after a member of the band fell ill.

A joint statement posted by the band's representatives and TD Garden, where they were due to perform an arena show, said the gig would be rescheduled following "band member illness".

The statement read: "Due to a band member illness, the Fleetwood Mac show scheduled for tonight, April 2, in Boston, Massachusetts will be rescheduled.

"Ticket holders should retain their ticket for the new date which will be announced shortly. Alternately, refunds are available at point of purchase."

It was not made clear which member of the legendary group had been affected.

Fleetwood Mac have been touring with their newly formed lineup, of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Stevie Nicks, and Christine McVie plus Mike Campbell, who worked with Tom Petty, and Crowded House's Neil Finn.

Campbell and Finn replaced Lindsey Buckingham after he left the group last year.

Nicks was recently inducted for the second time into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – this time as a solo artist. She was introduced to the stage by Harry Styles, whom she praised for building a solo career in addition to his work with One Direction.

Styles said of Nicks: "She is so wise and serene. She sees all the romance and drama in the world and she celebrates it."
