Who will win the Premier League?

Liverpool beat Wolverhampton Wanderers but failed to win the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp's side had already pulled off one miraculous comeback this week but couldn't do it again after City won at Brighton. The Reds did their part however with Sadio Mane tapping home the opener after just 17 minutes before the Senegalese added a second 10 minutes from time.

Here's how it played out:

Good afternoon and welcome to our live coverage of Liverpool vs Wolves from the Premier League.

It's the final day and the destination of the title is still up in the air.

It's Manchester City's to lose but the Reds know any slip up and they can capitalise and claim a first league title win since 1990.

Jurgen Klopp's side have already pulled off one miraculous comeback this week - can they do it again?

We'll have all the latest updates from Anfield for you throughout the afternoon.

It's been quite the race but it all comes down to this: one game each to decide the destination of the Premier League title.

Manchester City go into the final day at the top of the table of 95 points.

Liverpool are second with 94. City have a +69 goal difference with Liverpool four behind with +65.

There's a really outside chance that the Premier League could be decided with a play-off match but for that to happen Brighton would have to beat Man City 4-0 and Liverpool would have to draw with Wolves

Realistically it will come down to who can hold their nerve throughout the 90 minutes and come away as Champions.

Neither side have lost a Premier League match since January with Man City notching up a 13-game winning streak compared to Liverpool's eight.

The last time Liverpool won the top flight trophy was in 1990, they've never won the Premier League, and they'll have to overtake the league leaders on the final day to end their 19-year wait.

A feat that has never been done.

They are aided by the return of Mo Salah, who tops the Premier League scorer table, as he's recovered from a concussion.

Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson are also expected to overcome respective knee and calf injuries and should be fit to start.

Roberto Firmino remains out with a groin problem.

Wolves have no new injury concerns and are likely to name an unchanged side for the 15th time this season.

As well as the big one, there are still individual prizes to be clinched on the final day. Four players can possibly claim the golden boot.

Mo Salah leads the way with 22 but Sergio Aguero, Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang form the chasing pack each with 20 goals.

With their 4-0 victory over Barcelona on Tuesday sending Liverpool to the Champions League final they've already pulled off a miracle once this week.

Can they make it two today?

Jurgen Klopp seems the think so: "It was a week of miracles, of big football moments, and from our point of view if there could be a big football moment on the weekend, that would be nice.

"The week is not over yet. Sunday still counts, so we still go for it. Nothing changed, we knew it before. The only thing we can do is win the game."

Back on the 10th February the title race was perfectly balanced, much to Thanos' liking, with Liverpool and Man City both on 65 points.

Two 0-0 draws against Manchester United (24th Feb.) and Everton (3rd March) dropped Liverpool a point behind and since then neither Man City nor Liverpool have dropped points.

Should Man City come out on top today the Reds will look back at these two games, with their greatest rivals, as the games that cost them the league.

This is the eighth time the Premier League will be decided on the final day. In cases such as these all outcomes must be accounted for.

That means the real Premier League trophy has travelled to Brighton with a replica going to Anfield.

Also at Anfield, placards and banners naming Liverpool as Champions.

Tempting fate? Perhaps.

But all the logistics need to be accounted for.

A look at Liverpool's matchday programme that celebrates the Reds remarkable win over Barcelona during the week, have they used up all their luck though? They'll need some today to clinch the title.
