England will play their Euro 2020 qualifier against Kosovo at St Mary’s, The FA have announced.

The home of Southampton will welcome the national team on September 10 for the first time since October 2002, with Gareth Southgate’s side perfect after two matches.

On that occasion, Macedonia held Sven-Goran Eriksson’s Three Lions to a 2-2 draw.

The fixture will create history as the first-ever game against Kosovo since they were affiliated with Uefa and FIFA in 2016.

Kosovo have impressed since then, going unbeaten in the Uefa Nations League to top the group, securing at least a Uefa Euro 2020 play-off.

England played at Leeds’ Elland Road in a pre-World Cup friendly against Costa Rica last summer and took on Switzerland at the King Power Stadium in Leicester after the tournament.

Southgate’s men will face Bulgaria at Wembley on September 7 in their first match after June’s inaugural Nations League Finals.

England kicked off their Euro 2020 qualification campaign with a 5-0 home win against the Czech Republic, before overcoming Montenegro 5-1.
