The Oscars: Best and worst hosts of all time

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are set to hold the hottest Oscars after-party following the 91st annual Academy Awards on Sunday.

While Vanity Fair’s star-studded bash has long been the go-to destination for celebrities post ceremony, another event is threatening to knock it off its pedestal.

Otherwise known as the “Gold Party”, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are bringing back their super-exclusive do for the second year in a row.

In 2018, the couple’s event, which was held in the parking garage of the Chateau Marmont, banned press, reportedly featured an entryway covered by blackout curtains and had a complete social media and photo ban.

If this year’s party is anything like the last, it will feature a guest list of just 150 stars, including attendees like Leonardo DiCaprio, Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan, Drake, Tracee Ellis Ross and Stevie Wonder.

Aside from being one of the most coveted post-Oscar party’s, the event also looks set to provide a culinary feast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have enlisted the help of Daniel Humm – executive chef of the fourth best restaurant in the world, Eleven Madison Park – to curate the Gold Party’s cuisine.

Although the couple have encouraged their fans to adopt plant-based diets, they won’t be depriving their guests of meat-based fare with Page Six reporting there will be everything from “caviar by the gallon to truffle quesadillas and late-night upscale chicken and waffles”.

It has also been suggested that the nibbles will be accompanied by magnums of Jay-Z’s own Armand de Brignac Brut Gold Champagne.

Despite the haute cuisine on offer, reports suggest that last year’s event ended like most good nights out do, with fast food.

An employee at Joe’s Pizza told Entertainment Tonight that he delivered 36 pizzas to the venue after midnight.
