Manchester United have apparently identified Kalidou Koulibaly as a possible alternative to Harry Maguire.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to add more new faces to his squad after already securing the services of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

A new centre-half is chief among those with England international Maguire his No 1 choice.

However, the Daily Mail report that Leicester are remaining resolute over their valuation of more than £80m which has seen Ed Woodward draw up other options.

Napoli's Koulibaly is the main one, according to the report, with United prominent admirers of the Senegalese international for some time.

Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes' move to Old Trafford appears to be edging ever closer.

The two clubs are nearing an agreement over a fee with Sporting holding out for in the region of £60m for the Portuguese international.

The player himself is eager for his future to be resolved.

"I don’t care about the market, I’ve talked about this many times. The only thing I can do now is that I need to catch the plane so I don’t miss it.

"Will this be the last match for Sporting? I don’t know, it’s the coach who decides. I told you I’d like to play in England, but that’s not what interests me. It may be when the club decides."

Reports in Italy suggest that a move for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a "step away".

La Repubblica claim that United have picked the Serbian international as the man they want to replace Paul Pogba should he leave for Real Madrid.

Real remain keen to get Pogba on board this summer leading United into making contingency plans.

The report suggests that United and Lazio have already agreed a fee in the region of £70m and have drawn up a five-year contract for the player.

The spending isn't stopping there with the French press claiming a bid has been made for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.

La Voix du Nord report that United have offered £71m for the Ivorian who has been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal as well as Bayern Munich in recent weeks.

But it is apparently United who have made the first concerted push for his signature.

United remain interested in Sean Longstaff but are still someway short of Newcastle's valuation of the player.

The Magpies want as much as £50m for the midfielder, according to the Daily Mail, having watched Wan-Bissaka move for the same figure earlier in the window.

Woodward is said to value him closer to £20m but is set to make an improved offer in the coming days.
